Pulaski, Virginia - A community of opportunity in Virginia's New River Valley

Military Bricks Available at Ratcliffe Museum

As Veterans’ Day approaches, many in the community will be searching for ways to remember those who have served for our country. The Raymond F. Ratcliffe Transportation Museum is now offering a military section in our Brick Garden. The following header bricks are already in place: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, Seabees, U.S. Armed Forces K-9 Units, U.S. Veterans of Foreign Wars – World War II, and Vietnam Veterans of America.

In addition, header bricks for the following groups have also been set in the garden: Law Enforcement K-9 Units, Fire Department, Masons, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Volunteers of Pulaski County & New River Rescue Squads, and local high schools (Pulaski County High, Pulaski High, Dublin High, and Christiansburg Institute).
Commemorative bricks can be ordered in two sizes: 4″ x 8″ for $100 and up to three lines of text, and 8″ x 8″ for $200 and up to six lines of text. Stock logos are available for the bricks for $5, and custom logos can be added for $50. Logos have already been set up for the above-mentioned schools, except for Dublin High, which didn’t have a mascot. Anyone wishing to use these logos will now only have to pay $5 rather than $50. Bricks will be placed appropriately under the designated heading in the garden, with wishes to provide a lasting impression of those involved in making our community a safer, better place. Brick order forms are available at www.theratcliffemuseum.com. Additionally, forms are available at the Ratcliffe Museum during our hours of operation: Tuesday 11-5, Friday 11-5, Saturday 11-5, and Sunday 1-5. We can be reached through our website’s contact form or by calling (540) 980-2307.
